I will overwhelm 'serious combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize next month's bout.

Former two-time world boxing king Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I will break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

Despite these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British opponent Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Success

However, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, frequently receiving substantial earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers engaged in the customary face-off, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really going ahead.
